Description

Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens is the beloved tale of an orphan boy who endures a harsh life at a young age. This is Charles Dickens’ second novel and was published in 1838. One of the novel’s strongest elements is how Charles Dickens refrained from sugar coating the story and told it raw and unflinching. It showed readers the harsh world through the perception of young child. The novel highlighted the societal problems that included child labor and abuse as well portraying the seedy world of recruiting young children to be criminals.

Oliver Twist has been adapted through numerous forms of media from plays, radio drama, television and films. Now we can add audiobook from which we will be able to once again relieve this tale of the harsh realities and the eventual light in the midst of darkness.

The readers that narrated the story were up to the challenge of performing classic Dickens and went above and beyond to give us one of the best adaptations of Oliver Twist.
