Picture of Dorian Gray (1891) by Oscar Wilde (Free Audio Book)

Description

The Picture of Dorian Gray is a serial story that was published in July of 1880 by renowned author Oscar Wilde. The magazine that published the story deemed the tale too immoral and edited and deleted about 500 words from the author’s story. The Picture of Dorian Gray took aestheticism as its main theme which was a movement during the time that was often viewed as decadent. It also delves into the matter of leading a double life which the main character Dorian Gray truly delights in. Wilde’s classic tale of a man who relishes decadence has been adapted numerous times and while it garnered very poor reviews during its initial publication it has since grown and become a literary classic.

The free edition audiobook recording of The Picture of Dorian Gray offers a superb performance from the narrator with his on the button diction and pacing.
