Review: Dracula by Bram Stoker (Free Audio Book)

Our latest recommendation is the free audiobook of the utterly classic – Dracula!

Who hasn’t heard of Dracula? Yet it is one of those books that many people haven’t got around to either reading or listening to.

Dracula was so well written and has such an intriguing story, that authors have been trying to imitate it ever since. Even though “Dracula” was not the first vampire, he is the most famous and the one most people believe to be the original. Much of the lore surrounding him has carried on through the years to become the vampire myth we all recognise today. Stoker’s story is mainly told through journal and diary entries from different characters in the book. Such as Jonathan Harker, who begins the story serving as legal counsel to Dracula and through Mina, Jonathan’s fiancé, as she describes her friend Lucy’s slow decline in health and her mysterious disappearances during the night. There are even a few journal entries from Dr. Seward, a suitor of Lucy’s and a student of Van Helsing’s. This is the book that introduces us to Van Helsing – the most famous vampire hunter of them all.

The audio is clear and each speaker speaks well. I’m sure you’ll enjoy listening to the story that originally ignited the passion for such a despicable creature.
