You’re Next is a suspense novel written by Gregg Hurwitz and narrated by Scott Brick. The main character of the story is Mike Wingate who has had a rather turbulent childhood. At an early age he was abandoned at a playground by his parents, he was then raised in an orphanage with no idea who his parents are and why they abandoned him. Against all odds, Mike was able to find success as an adult. He is now married to Annabel, the woman of his dreams; they now have a young daughter named Kat and his construction company is about to land a contract that will help secure his family’s future.
However, it seems that the past has caught up with Mike as he and his family is threatened by a group of individuals that seems to be linked to his past. Mike goes for help with the police but the police seem to be more interested in Mike’s unknown past than with the individuals threatening his family. As the danger steadily escalates Mike goes to his old friend Shep, a dangerous individual who was Mike’s only friend in the orphanage. Together they must dive headfirst into Mike’s dark past and put a stop to the men who will stop at nothing to hurt Mike and his family.
