A Man Called Ove Audio Book Summary:
Old man Ove has a reputation in his neighborhood, and unfortunately it is not a pleasant one. Ove is the resident bitter neighbor. He dislikes people with such a passion that everyone in town has given him the unbecoming moniker of “neighbor from hell”. But for Ove, he cares nothing for what these people think about him. But underneath this cold and angry image is an old man who is filled with sadness and loneliness.
One fine November day will bring about a change that, while unwelcomed by Ove, can be seen as a blessing in disguise. This is the day when a young friendly couple along with their equally friendly daughter moves in next door. While the first impression by Ove is not a great one, as the couple accidentally ran over his mailbox, the positive aura of this family will hopefully rub off on old Ove and maybe he might open up more.
Will this lively family break through the old man’s cold bitter heart? Well, if they are then they are going to have to work for it.
One reason to listen:
A Man Called Ove is nice family audiobook that will be a treat to listen to during a nice summer night.

Reactions:
“I listened to the audiobook I borrowed from my local library on Hoopladigital. The audio version is phenomenal and narrated by George Newbern from Father of the Bride and most recently one of the bad guys on Scandal. Such a great listen!” – Kristie Poovey

“This is one of the best feel-good stories I have read for some time and it gets a place in my best books for 2014. I strongly recommend it to someone who wants to read something different that will hit at your heart. If you are emotionally affected by books I strongly suggest keeping a box of tissues handy.” – Suncoast

“This audiobook is entertaining, funny and heartbreaking at times. I laughed aloud many times. The characters were well developed. It is highly recommended!” – Ann Marie Jagiella

“This is an easy to read and genuinely comedic novel, but it’s not all froth as the story of Ove’s life and the various setbacks he overcame is also woven into it. My main criticism is that none of the characters feel like or behave like real people.” – Julia Flyte

“How can a book about lonely older man intent on killing himself be funny but it is and while predictable I think it is still a worthwhile read. This book gives us hope in community and how we can impact those around us if we are open. Not a bad message.” – LWU
