A Punctual Paymaster Audio Book Summary:
A Punctual Paymaster tells the tale of the white Thanos Family and the black Taylor Family through the span of 70 years. Their fates are twisted together throughout generations. The powerful Nikkos Thanos is the owner of a successful wool mill and almost everything the rests on the north side of Delphi, Missouri. Opposite Nikkos is the courageous Thaddeus “Cousin” Taylor who owns a simple and modest grocery store and tavern outside the south side whose past is shrouded in mystery and tragedy. Each man tries to carry on from opposite sides of society through the racism, the Great Depression and the war. As time passes, their roles are filled by their descendants. Taking over Nikkos’ position is her beautiful and brave daughter Evangelina and on the other side is T.J., the grandchild of Thaddeus who looked up to him as a child.
Years pass by and the story will focus on two high school friends named Ab and Grady who return to attend the funeral of their mentor T.J. Soon they discover a history that tells the life of their mentor’s family and the wealthy Thanos family and the pain, revenge, death and triumph that filled the two families’ history.
One reason to listen:
A Punctual Paymaster is a tale of race, equality and will that perfectly describes the society that we live in today. It shows how some trivial matters like race can cause pain to people due to discrimination and yet or will to live can always pull us out of the darkness.

“This is a complex and generational story with all the elements you want in a great book. Personally, T.J. was my favorite character in this book. HE was developed with such incredible life that he makes you love him from the very beginning. This is an incredible debut novel. Keep Dan Groat on your authors to watch list.” – Ionia Martin
