Adventures of Bindle by Herbert Jenkins (Free Audio Book)

Narrated by Don W. Jenkins

The Adventures of Bindle is one of the most popular fictional characters from the great mind of Herbert Jenkins. First appearing in 1916 and the sequels that followed, The Adventures of Bindle centers on the life of Mr. Joseph Bindle, one of the greatest cockney fictional characters in literature. The story is told in simple and straightforward manner as he goes through the daily grind of work to going home and all the events that happen in between. This is a smart and heartwarming tale of a simple man thrust into some extraordinary events that shows everyone has some greatness in them no matter who they are.

The Adventures of Bindle is read by Don W. Jenkins in a perfect cockney accent that it might get difficult for the casual listeners to follow some conversations. That being said this is a great and loyal audiobook adaptation of the classic series novel. The Adventures of Bindle is one of the originals of the “slice of life” genre and it is easy to see why these types of stories became as popular and long lasting as they are. Herbert Jenkins has created an endearing everyman with Joseph Bindle and it is easy to see yourself in the witty and kindhearted cockney.
