American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History Audio Book Summary:
He is known as the deadliest sniper in American history, known as The Devil by his enemies and as The Legend by his brethrens in the Navy SEALS. Chris Kyle’s military duty that spanned a decade (1999 – 2009) detailed his exceptional skill wherein he was able to garner sniper kill counts of more than 150. His skills were so feared that the Iraqi insurgents began calling him al-Shaitan or The Devil and even placed a bounty on his head. His talent with the rifle was indispensible to his fellow SEALs as well as the U.S. Army soldiers that he helped protect from hidden vantage points across the battlefield.
Kyle is a native Texan that learned how to use the rifle from his father in their hunting trips. After the tragic events of 9/11, he was called on for War on Terror and soon after found his truly calling wielding a sniper rifle. He has fought in Fallujah where he helped rescue the marines that were being trapped by heavy enemy fire in the streets. He recounts the time when he fought insurgents using his pistol in an intense close quarter combat in Ramadi.
In this autobiography Kyle talks honestly about the horrors of war and the pain of losing two of his closest friends in the field. American Sniper also pays tribute to Kyle’s brothers in arms and also a personal account of his wife, Taya, as she tells of the strain this war has put on their relationship and children and even on Chris Kyle himself.
One reason to listen:
This is a nail biting, tense and heartfelt autobiography of the man behind the legend, a man who was seen as a demon in the eyes of his enemies and a hero among his fellow soldiers.

Reactions:
“This book is a fascinating account of someone that lived a horrifying scenario without blinking. A Navy Seal, a man, a dad, a patriot, and a Christian which laid his life on the line for his fellow fighting forces, and in his belief his country, all to prevent evil from succeeding. Say what you want to about agreeing with the man, but call him a true man and a hero in the process. He is non-political. He is just a man that answered a call to duty from his country, and was extremely lethal at the task given. This single minded soul concentrated on the task at hand and accomplished what we asked of him.” – William
“The Texas accent that the narrator adopted felt forced, wasn’t that good and was unnecessary. After several hours of listening to words pronounced without the trailing letter G, I couldn’t take it anymore. Messin and drivin and divin and shootin got old.” – Stuart Williams
“This book is a riot, Chris Kyle… I salute you. I am an 82 ABN veteran, and this book sums up all the emotions that somehow Veterans can’t figure out how to explain to anyone, even ourselves. This book made me laugh made me smile and made me understand, it also made me Proud to be an American, something the Author would be proud to know. It also made me very proud to have worn the Uniform with pride and respect.” – Frank Estrada
