The Outlander series is one of the most well-known sagas that push science fiction, fantasy and romance to a whole new level. Diana Gabaldon’s epic story is now at its 7th book and also the 7th audiobook edition.

The Outlander series centers around the time-travelling Claire and her exploits and romances in various points of time. Now, she goes through an exhilarating journey in 1777 America. Claire is now wed to Jamie Fraser, an American that is currently fighting in the war. However, even with Claire telling him that America will eventually win the war his heart is at unrest. He fears that at one point he must point his rifle at his son who now a young officer in the British army. This is a thought that weighs heavily on his heart.

But Jamie isn’t the only who is feeling conflict with his knowledge of the outcome of the war. Claire as well is not quite sure whether Jamie will make it back home and this drowns her heart in fear.

This epic romantic fantasy novel is once again narrated by the talented Davina Porter who has given life to Claire for all audiobook editions of The Outlander series.

Reactions:

“An Echo in the Bone (The Outlander series) [Audiobook, Unabridged] [Audio CD] very good series, has it all: War, love, time travel.” – Lawrence Blakenship

“I enjoyed all of the audiobooks far more than the written word in this series, yet I am a hardcore hardcover book lover. But these books, read by Davina Porter deliver a stunning and powerful story every single time, even if the subject matter IS re-inflating a collapsed lung in the 18th century. Of all of the audiobooks I have listened to, and there are dozens and dozens now, these lend themselves to this format more than all of them.” – Jana McEye

“This is a great story by a great writer. Diana Gabaldon creates fabulous story lines and characters and Davina Porter brings them to life in these audiobooks!” – Islandgirl

“I love the Outlander series. I especially like to listen to the audiobooks, but this one was a little hard to get through. The audio has 40 CD’s which made me jump ahead because it was a little too long. I wish we could get a book about Jamie and Claire maybe once a year or every other year with 400 pages, rather than the long wait with 800-900 pages.” – D. Hines

“Outlander novels are definitely worth the attention. And I’ll spare you the every detail of the book if you haven’t read it, but trust me that there are plenty of new adventures, new and old characters, incredible and unexpected turns of events, love, passion, romance, war, and more.” – Victoria aka Zemfirka
