At The Sign of The Jack O’Lantern by Myrtle Reed – A free audiobook
Narrated by Daryl Wor
Myrtle Reed crafts a funny story filled with odd occurrences and incidents. The story opens up during a honeymoon and a peculiar inheritance wherein the parties are wholly inexperienced in. As with all inheritance gatherings, there will be several people or “relatives” that will come. Soon enough, someone came to visit, and then another and another. Soon the estate is crammed with a pandemonium of New England odd-ball relationships. This free audiobook paints a hilarious picture of what is usually a very stressful moment is certain people’s life: the last will and testament meeting. The characters in the story are highly interesting and have their own quirks that will either have listeners loving them or wishing they could strangle some with a cord.
Our main character may not be socially inept but at the very least he has a sense of humor that he will surely need to get through this chaotic family reunion. Myrtle Reed develops a penchant for writing humorous prose that is sure to be a page turner even during parts that would have been slow but is instead a hilarious romp through every sentence. Daryl Wor reads this free audiobook edition of At the Sign of the Jack O’Lantern with such convincing naiveté that will surely have listeners loving this character from start to finish.
