Babbitt by Sinclair Lewis

Babbitt by Sinclair Lewis – A free audiobook

Narrated by Mike Vendetti

Babbitt was written by Sinclair Lewis and centers on the titular character, George F. Babbitt. This complex and rather divisive character is an interesting one to follow. As soon as you think you have him figured out he does something completely unexpected and whenever he is slowly winning you over he decides to act loathsome.

The story of George F. Babbitt begins during the later years of his life. He has found success as a businessman and his family is by his side. However, it seems that deep inside Babbitt wants something more than what he currently has, or maybe he is just tired of the monotony of life he is currently living in. This all changes when he meets the widower Tanis who he thinks he can have a more fulfilling relationship with. He also decides to run for politics as well. But Babbitt may have bitten more than he could chew and it might all cause him to fall into a downward spiral.
