Ginny Carter appears to have gotten it all in her career and relationships. She is a fast rising star in the television news industry and is married to the top anchorman of their station with a beautiful three year old son. It seems that she already have everything one could ask for in life until that fateful day when it was all taken away from her during a tragic event in the freeway just days before Christmas. As Ginny starts to piece together what is left of her life she tries to find a new purpose in life by volunteering as a human rights worker in some of the most dangerous parts of the world.

But as fate would have it, during the anniversary of the tragic accident that left her broken she meets a young boy named Blue Williams who was abandoned by his own family which forced him to survive in the streets on his own. Ginny tries to reach out to the boy but was rebuffed during her attempts. But slowly their friendship grows and soon Blue and Ginny was able to lean on each other for strength. But as soon as they are finally finding a new family in each other Ginny discovers a secret that Blue has been hiding from her. Would this betrayal be too deep to heal or will the bond that they formed be enough to pull both broken souls from the brink once again?

One reason to listen:

This is tale that shows the will of humans even in the face of impossible odds and the strength that we can gather from having one another.

Reactions:

“The plot is very riveting, thought provoking with plenty of surprises along the way. It delves into very taboo subjects: human rights activity in war torn countries, the homeless right here in the US, and molestation. She touches on these subjects with brilliance and sensitivity. By the end of the novel I was crying tears of joy.” – Robin Lee

“This is the best book I’ve read in years and I suggest you all read it as well. Oh, and I still have to send it to my mother, since she’s the one I bought it for in the first place. She’s already anxious to read it.” – Leah Harvey

“This is another brilliant novel by Danielle Steel! Usually her books are a great read and my wife, having read this, felt this was no exception to the rule. She usually hinges herself with dark secrets, coming into play and trying to overcome some of life’s harder challenges.” – Carbon Lord

“Although a well written book as expected I did not expect the turn it took towards the abuse from priests. If this had stayed on point and even then not spent so much time with this subject I was a bit disappointed in the fairy tale ending.” – A Peterson

“This is a good story told in true Danielle Steel fashion …. her writing is okay somewhat linear, all that being said it’s a worthy story and I wish I could write okay and somewhat linear. I always enjoy reading her books.” – Jo-Ann Wolsky
