Departure Audio Book Summary:
A.G. Riddle creates a mind melting science fiction story that grounds the story with its characters amidst a backdrop that is as mind shattering as it is amazing. The story starts off with Harper Lane onboard Flight 305, as she decides on a choice that will change her life forever. However, things go terribly awry as her flight crash lands in the middle of the English countryside. At first feeling fragile and helpless, this incident showed Harper that she is made of tougher mettle than she gives herself credit for. She will need this newfound inner strength to survive what is about to come.
Soon she finds that there are other survivors. All of which seem to be connected with each other indirectly. The survivors will soon realize that they are in a world that is vastly different from where they came from and that some of the surviving passengers seem to know more than what they let on. Harper and Nick, an American on his way to an important meeting, will have to figure out what exactly is happening before time runs out. The survivors find out that they have made decisions that have already doomed one world; the following hours will determine whether they doom the world they came from as well.
One reason to listen:
Departure is a unique science fiction novel filled with twists and turns that make this genre one of the most exciting today. A.G. Riddle earns the spot of one of the best sci-fi writers today.

Reactions:
“I ‘read’ this as an audiobook. By the way Steve Aiello did a stellar job reading as the Male protagonist Nick. The book itself was fantastic. The story was interesting, the plot developed at a good pace without dragging. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I have just gotten his other book ‘The Atlantis Gene’….develops much more slowly so far…but if it is as good as this one I should enjoy it as well.” – Roz79

“Departure is a many faceted work of fiction. An everyday flight evolves into catastrophe, heroism, adventure, difficult to comprehend events, mind boggling revelations, mysteries, and real surprises. The plot itself is sufficient to keep you glued.” – Coolfire

“I thoroughly enjoyed reading Departure and highly commend Sir A.G Riddle’s work. It’s exactly the kind of work which appeals me– Something which makes me ponder, something which changes a part of you when you’re done reading it. Not to mention it’s really hard keeping the book down once you keep it up.” – Shariq Farooqui

“For the most part this is a fast paced science fiction thriller. The first 60% of the story held my rapt attention. But then the story slows down as the characters go on and on about their feelings. The story has big ideas but some of the main characters’ internal self-reflections are so trivial. It slowed down the story and did not fit.” – Peggy Fenton

“The book is a very quick read with plenty of action and character development. Harper Lane, writer, and Nick Stone, savvy start-up capitalist without a sense of direction lead the cast, and their decisions will ultimately affect humanity. The premise is fun and the flow is solid. I have ended up reading all of Riddle’s books. He has a hefty imagination and continues to hone his craft. I look forward to reading future works.” – Fun Sci-Fi
