Eragon: The Inheritance Cycle Book 1 Audio Book Summary:
Eragon is an epic fantasy filled with sorcery and adventure. When young Eragon finds a beautiful blue stone he believed it to be a lucky find and something that can help his family push through the coming winter. However, when the blue stone turns out to be a dragon egg and soon after hatches Eragon finds himself in the middle of a legend older than the Empire and an adventure waiting to transpire. Eragon must quickly grasp his destiny if he is to survive as shadows are afoot the moment whispers of a dragon began spreading across the kingdom. Armed with an ancient sword, Eragon and the young dragon must press forward towards their destiny and face a king whose rule has thrown the kingdom into darkness and disarray.
Now it is time for Eragon to once again raise the banner of the legendary Dragon Riders and free the kingdom from the clutches of evil. But Eragon and his dragon are yet to be tested and they will go through trial by fire wherein failure will result in their deaths. Their bond and trust with each other is their greatest strength and they will need every ounce of it they wish to succeed.
One reason to listen:
This is one of the most underrated fantasy stories today (thanks in no part to the mediocre movie). Do not dismiss this as your typical fantasy audiobook as it features a rich history filled with interesting characters and exciting set pieces.

Reactions:
“If you watched the movie first, I apologize on behalf of everyone that has read the book. The movie was one of the worst book make over EVER. The story is good; the characters developed well, and are a pleasure to read.” – David Baughman

“Love all the Eragon books. This is the fourth time I’m reading them all. Only wish the movie they made wasn’t rubbish -they should have followed the book better.” – Nella Saunders

“Even though the writing seemed a bit amateur at first, I still found myself wanting to read more. After a short time I was more and more drawn with the developments as I got further into the book.” – Andrew David Harrison II

“I like the story, but you can seriously tell that it is written by a 17 year old kid. I mean there is a part where for no apparent reason the main character and his mentor decide to go get drunk. Has nothing to do with the story and helps in no way but it is in there. All and all it is not a bad read, especially if you are trying to decide on your next book but can’t find one. Hope you enjoy it!” – Amazon Customer
