God and the State by Mikhail Bakunin Audiobook

God and the State by Mikhail Bakunin – A free audiobook

Narrated by Carl Manchester

God and State, originally titled “Dieu et l’état” was Mikhail Bakunin’s most famous work. The book was published in various lengths but this free audiobook edition of God and State is from the most complete form the book was published in.

Mikhail Bakunin intended this to be the second half of a bigger work called “The Knouto-Germanic Empire and the Social Revolution” but was unfortunately never to be. God and State was written by Bakunin in 1871, between February and March of that year. Bakunin preferred disjointed structure when it comes to writing, hence, this being the second part without a first and third to fully close his narrative.

Mikhail Bakunin is a known anarchist and his work reflects this philosophy. God and State his most popular known work and has since ran through various publications and reiterations as parts of the book were still being discovered. Now, this audiobook edition presents the most complete version of Bakunin’s book and is read by Carl Manchester.
