Indiscretions of Archie by JP. G. Wodehouse – A free audiobook
Narrated by Mark Nelson
This comedy of epic proportions by JP H. Wodehouse is a testament to the hardships of some men goes through when it comes to approaching their father-in-law, more so true with the protagonist of this audiobook. For you see, Archie is a simple man who fell in love with a young woman. A pretty normal story, except for the fact that the woman, Lucille, is the daughter of a millionaire hotel tycoon and Archie is a poor lad with no occupation at the moment.
Mr. Brewster, Lucille’s father, no doubt sees Archie as an opportunist looking to take a slice of Lucille’s wealth. It also does not help that prior to Archie and Lucille’s meeting, Archie heavily criticized one of Mr. Brewster’s hotels which already left Archie on Mr. Brewster’s bad side long before they meet personally.
Archie will now try to build a bridge he inadvertently burned a long time ago but it appears that it is easier said than done. Archie is somewhat of an idiot when it comes to being a refined gentleman and Mr. Brewster is not giving an inch either.
