Star Wars: Bloodline – New Republic Audio Book Summary:
Written by New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray comes another fantastic addition the Star Wars lore that is set years before the events that transpired in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The story will once again revolve around the Skywalker bloodline, this time around focusing on Leia’s family. After what was hoped to be years of peace in the galaxy after the defeat of the empire, Leia and Han’s son, Ben, shows amazing potential in the ways of the force. However, Leia senses a turmoil within his son’s spirit and decides to let his brother, Luke Skywalker, train Ben in the ways of the Light side of the force.
Luke Skywalker has been steadily training new Jedis in the ways of using the force. As the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy, Luke has developed his powers to the point that he could possibly the strongest Jedi to ever set foot in the entire galaxy. But with all his powers Luke still has much to learn when it comes to dealing with the dark side, something that his bloodline has had trouble in the past. Ben is also showing signs of darkness within him that worries Luke. But as Luke is focused on reestablishing the Jedi, a shadow lurks that rose upon the ashes of the Empire and it has set its eyes on Ben Solo.
Leia must also learn to be a leader in the midst of chaos and unrest and with murmurs of a growing threat looming over the New Republic, she must rise above and beyond her duties but the sacrifices she must give in order to do so might be all too great for her.
One reason to listen:
This is a great additional story that further sheds some light to the events that happened before Force Awakens. It will tie down fans until Episode VIII is released and gives us a more detailed answer to all the questions that Episode VII left unanswered.

Reactions:
“Bloodline is literary gold even outside of the Star Wars universe. It’s one of the best science fiction books I have read. Bloodline makes you think, it makes you cry, it makes you want to jump up and down in fanboy/girl glee.” – StoryHobbit

“I’d highly recommend reading Bloodline, especially if you plan on seeing Episode VIII. No doubt some elements will play into the film as the director, Rian Johnson, contributed to the novel.” – Joseph Born

“Bloodline has quickly jumped to the top of my list of favorite new Star Wars canon novels. This is a must read for all Star Wars lit fans, as well as those who might have seen the movie, but want more information on what led up to those fateful moments.” – Michael Yankovich

“Fans who want a shoot-em up, bang-bang adventure may be disappointed by a more cerebral take on the franchise. On the other hand, this is a great deal less boring than the Prequels politics as well as a good deal better-written.” – Amazon Customer

“The Audible narration is unabridged and apparently all the voices are read by actress, January LaVoy, from the daytime soap opera, One Life to Live. Ms. LaVoy reads well enough, it just sounds funny to hear Han sounding so effeminate and emasculated.” – JJ
