Star Wars: The Force Awakens Audio Book Summary:

The story takes place three decades after the events of The Return of the Jedi. While Luke Skywalker and his allies were able to defeat the evil Sith Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, it appears that returning peace to the galaxy is still as distant as it has always been. The remnants of the empire refuse to surrender and a group called the First Order has appeared that continues the ways of the Dark Side.

Now, Luke Skywalker has disappeared for unknown reasons and Leia is desperate to find his brother as he might be the only one who can defeat the rising threat of the First Order and its agent, a mysterious hooded figure named Kylo Ren. General Leia Organa has sent the finest pilot of the resistance to find Luke Skywalker but time is running out.

Within the First Order, a Storm Trooper is starting to have a change of heart and wishes to escape this life of bloodshed. A decision that will have him cross paths with a scavenger named Rey who seems to be more than what she appears to be. As the pieces fall into place, a new and dangerous game begins and the battle of light and dark will once again take place that will shape the history of the galaxy.

One reason to listen:

If you are a Star Wars fan then this is a great supplemental media that further elaborates on certain aspects of the story of the movie.

“There are a lot of questions that the book brought up, but didn’t push forward. Which could be a downside of the movie (I haven’t seen it as of writing this). But I’ll save that judgment for later. Here’s hoping those will be answered.” – jddennis83
