The Fellowship of the Ring: Book 1 in the LotR Trilogy Audio Book Summary:

J.R.R. Tolkien laid the foundations for all future fantasy epics with his works like The Silmarillion and The Hobbit. One of his most popular is The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the first is The Fellowship of the Ring.

This is the start of an epic adventure to end Middle-Earth of the One Ring and Sauron once and for all. The ring is now in Frodo’s hands as he is tasked of taking it on a perilous journey to Mount Doom to destroy it forever. Along for the journey are his friends Samwise, Pipin and Merry, the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Aragorn, Boromir, the Dwarf warrior Gimli and the Elvish hunter Legolas.

Their travels will pit them against dangers that will test their fellowship to the limit and as the army of Sauron ready for their final assault on Middle Earth, the Fellowship must race against time as they themselves are being hunted by Sauron’s minions who are hell bent in reclaiming the ring for their master.

One reason to listen:

The Lord of the Rings is one of the most important literary works in the realm of fantasy as it paved way for other classic fantasy stories. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is one of the best in this genre and there is no better way to start it off than with the Fellowship of the Ring.

Reactions:

“I highly recommend this Audiobook version of The Fellowship of the Ring narrated by Rob Inglis. He has narrated each book in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, as well as The Hobbit. It is the only version of these books that I will listen to. I am currently acquiring all of them. Rob Inglis is a great narrator, his voice is not grating, his variations of the characters & creatures voices are wonderful, and his singing is also great.” – Amazon Customer

“This performance – like the book – is flawless, and is a true listening experience. Pick this title up; no matter if you have loved Middle Earth for a lifetime or are just a kindly newcomer seeking to immerse yourself in the exciting, perilous world, you won’t regret it.” – Jake

“The Fellowship of the Ring audiobook is read by Rob Inglis. It is wonderful. He is able to change his voice for each character so you know who is talking before Tolkien tells you. I listen to this audiobook when driving and sewing. This is the most magical story in The Lord of the Rings series and is delightful to listen to over and over.” – Sandy

“However, with the audio I would sometimes get a little lost and not be sure who was speaking. That is probably because I wasn’t focusing as much as I should have been. My bad. Anyway, great book. I am debating starting the second book now. I might wait until this summer but maybe I’ll get to it sooner.” – Amanda Marie
