The Girl on the Train is a psychological mystery thriller that focuses on a woman named Rachel. Rachel’s life is at a slow descent. Her life of monotony is slowly killing her inside. She takes the same train every morning and goes past all the familiar places and faces. She always a couple having breakfast and while she has never actually talked to them, she feels she already knows them and envies their “picturesque” perfect life together which is the complete opposite of what she has and even starts calling them the Golden Couple.
Everything changes when the woman (Megan of the Golden Couple) suddenly disappears and Rachel is thrown in the middle of the investigation as a suspect. She was already caught stalking them before and her unexplainable wounds implicate her further. However, Megan has secrets of her own and another woman named Anna who looks exactly like Megan seems to be hiding something as well. Rachel’s psyche is further strained due to her history of drunken blackouts that she is starting to believe that she may have a hand in the disappearance. The three women’s story circle each other on a collision course that will end in a shocking revelation
