Reactions:
“As an adult, I now view ‘the Hobbit’ more as a Bildungsroman rather than a traditional quest novel. Listening and reading this with my kids, I found myself once more transported not just to middle-earth, but back to my own youth and innocence.” – Darwin8u
“I am so glad that this is finally available on Audible! The book is one of my favorites, great all ages. Full of elves, dwarfs, dragons, wizards, goblins, giant spiders… Absolutely fun and engrossing.” – Candace
“It is hard to believe its been over 75 years since this was originally published, giving birth to the high fantasy realm of literature. This is a timeless masterpiece that I would highly recommend everyone to experience in its written form. ” – Kevin
“The reading is great, but only one nit-pick: some characters and scenes should be read a little darker and not so upbeat. For example, the songs of the Dwarfs–these should be dark and foreboding, but the way that they’re read/sung in this recording makes me think of lawn ornament Gnomes digging in the garden. Minor nit-pick. Overall, a very long awaited and welcome recording! Thanks!” – Aden
“I listened to this book years ago and it had a narrator that did it with a think English accent and to me it was better. I’ve listened to other books narrated by Rob Inglis and he’s good. I just like the other person better and this is why I can’t give it 5 stars for performance.” – Jes
