The Neon Lawyer Audio Book Summary:

Bringham Theodore’s career has just begun and already he feels as if he is already falling down a slippery slope. With money and hope slowly running out, Brigham decides that desperate times call for desperate measures and joins with a shady law firm that operates in Salt Lake City. Alas, Lady Luck seems to have forgotten Brigham when he not only loses his first case but also gets a speeding ticket. Believing that his career is over, Brigham is surprised when his boss hands him another case, but this one is far more complicated than anything he has handled.

Brigham has a new client, Amanda Pierce, a broken woman who gunned down the man who tortured and killed her six year old daughter in front of numerous witnesses. The jury may find Amanda’s case sympathetic but the law forbids any form of vigilante justice and the prosecution is no less a fan of it as well. On the opposite side is Vince Dale, a well-known prosecutor who has never lost a case in his career. Brigham will pushed to his utmost limits because if Amanda refuses the “guilty” label then Brigham will have no choice but to fight not only for his one final shot at redemption but also Amanda’s life.

One reason to listen:

This is an amazing legal thriller that will surely hook fans of the genre. Nick Podehl also gives a great performance in this audiobook.

Reactions:

“This book not only gives an inside look at the practice of law, but serves as an inspiration to the battle worn lawyers who may not have the time to remember that we are here to seek justice.” – Lee Sexton

“I have been a legal secretary for many years and some of the facts in this case about “baby” lawyers are so right on the mark. There is more injustice in the system than justice. This is an interesting reading.” – Joyce O.

“Had to read to the story’s end before I put it down. Have never read this author’s books before, I’m more of a Grisham fan, but this story drew me in and has made me a fan of this writer. ” – Debra Malone

“The story is fun, if predictable. Wish the author had taken a little more time to develop his characters. The story could have easily been embellished with a little more “meat.”” – M.D. Berry

“Easy entertaining read, almost too short. Not having any legal background, to me it seemed credible and a “could have happened” storyline. Not a litrary masterpiece, but certainly a nice, relaxed read I don’t regret purchasing.” – Sceptic
