In this free audiobook version of the classic American novel, the story is set in a small England town during World War I and focuses on the life of Major Duncan Meredyth. Major Meredyth is a veteran of the Boer Wars and is now living the remainder of his life within this peaceful town. His injuries during the said wars has left him disabled and he struggles to keep his life and the lives of those he cares about in order and in harmony.
