The Screwtape Letters Audio Book Summary:
C.S. Lewis crafted this gem and it has since one of the best satires in literature. The Screwtape Letters throws a unique twist into the daily human drama, and that it is seeing human life from the point of view of someone who works further down below our plane of existence. Screwtape is an assistant of the Devil as he jots down a highly interesting observation of what humanity seems to be about. It also revolves around the story of young demon in training Wormwood, the Devil’s nephew as he is tasked of ensuring the damnation of the soul of a young man.
This masterpiece by C.S. Lewis shows the dangers of temptation and humanity’s weakness from it and the surpassing said temptations, with tongue firmly in cheek all the way.
One reason to listen:
This is a classic and still quite hilarious novel from C.S. Lewis that puts forth a serious issue but bathes it in an upbeat and fun light.

Reactions:
“This reading is very entertaining and the actor adds a great deal to the text. You can hear the effort. The reader is acting not just reading with animation. His interpretation helps with the understanding of the language from 70 years ago and the discussion of a complex subject.” – Stephen

“Of course, CS Lewis is wonderful. It is hard to get enough of his wit and wisdom about life and society and Christianity. This audiobook is a great way to get a dose of Lewis. I have listened to it over and over as I drive, and, while of course the content is outstanding, the reader is excellent and makes the Screwtape/Wormwood story come alive. I cannot recommend it highly enough.” – T. Crichton

“I bought this audiobook to listen to in my car during my commute, and I’m very glad I did. I think Joss Ackland was a great choice for a narrator; his voice is really demon-y! It’s a great book, and a great reading!” – Nervous Girl

“The final chapter on Screwtape’s toast is an accurate commentary on our world and country today as when he first wrote it. I would recommend this book to get an understanding of the silent war that is waged on mankind, and its implications.” – JaninReno

“So please don’t be upset thinking you are reading a devil’s thoughts. This is just a literary tradition. What is interesting is how many essential cornerstones of Christianity are affirmed in this short book such as God’s love for humans, free will, and the importance of living the faith through action.” – Marie S. Gautier
