Narrated by Roger Melin
The Valley of Silent Men is a novel written by James Oliver Curwood, this is the free audiobook edition of the novel. The story focuses on James Kent as he learns that he has terminal illness with probably only a few days left to live. He then decides to confess to a murder in order to save an innocent man. However, nobody believes his story thinking that these are all ravings of desperate man with nothing else to live for. One detractor from his story is a mysterious girl named Marette who inexplicably appeared in Athabasca Landing only a couple of weeks before.
When James Kent’s illness suddenly changed and his death postponed for now, he goes to look for the mysterious girl who he ends up falling in love with. Marette is full of mystery as she avoids telling any aspect of her past life to Kent as well as the extent of her knowledge about the murder. This is a story filled with suspense and intrigue but it is also a tale about love.
