Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation Audio Book Summary:

The seeds for this audiobook were first planted during the controversial debate between owner of the Creation Museum Ken Ham and Bill Nye on the issue of scientific inaccuracies of creationism and its negative effect on higher learning of children. Undeniable further elaborates and expands all of the points Bill Nye made during the much talked about debate.

Bill Nye enthusiastically conducts a lecture on the evolutionary theory and explains in detail how it is based on fact that is backed by actual scientific data that has been gathered for decades. His lecture gives a sound justification on why evolution is the most viable explanation to the beginnings of life on planet Earth. Bill Nye believes that teaching otherwise is a huge detriment to the advancement of society and creationism is a dangerous practice that must be avoided as it is intellectually harmful to our children. Undeniable is a great and entertaining scientific listen and is a good introduction to the theory of evolution.

One reason to listen:

Perfectly narrated by Bill Nye himself, Undeniable tackles the question of where we came from using scientific fact and further elaborates on why creationism is a harmful practice to our children.

Reactions:

“Nye does a terrific job showing the natural process of evolution, and the deficiencies inherit in creationist arguments. Really, all one needs to do is critically examine the human body and all its flaws, or even just compare features of our anatomy, say the eyeball, to that of other creature’s, like an octopus or hawk, to see the imperfections and utter lack of planned, elegant design. There is no “creator,” and with the process of evolution, there is no need for one, either. It works just fine on its own, through adaptation and selective gene flow. Evolution gives lie to the creationist claims, and Nye expertly explains that evolution is not so much a method of perfect design so much as it is a system of simply being good enough.

Undeniable, however, is much more than merely good enough – it is, in fact, truly excellent. This is a necessary book, one that should be on the bookshelves and e-readers of anyone looking to expand their horizons with thoughtful scientific insight and an explanation of the natural world around us. Highly recommended.” – Michael Patrick Hicks

“This book is incredibly well-written, eye-opening and educational. My recommendation (for everyone) would be to read it whether you believe in the theory of evolution or not, then to draw your own conclusions and see if what Bill Nye says makes sense to you. Here are his final words: “We will go to thrilling places, unimaginable places, if only we keep our minds open to new ideas, our faculties keen to significant pieces of evidence, our youthful curiosities forever engaged. Where did we come from? Are we alone? Search on!” – Melissa

“This is a fantastic book! I watched his television show while growing up, so for the sake of nostalgia, I decided to order this on my Kindle. I am very happy I did! His tone is very conversational and logical. If you have a general interest in science or are curious about evolutionary sciences, I highly recommend.” – Aaron Colby

“This is a wonderful book on the grand theory of evolution. Inspired by a debate with creationist Ken Ham, Bill Nye the Science Guy takes the reader on a delightful journey through popular topics concerning evolution and along the way teaches us the importance in understanding it. A tad on the accessible side of the equation but a wonderful book nonetheless. I highly recommend it!” – Book Shark

“I would say that the book is written for people who have a minimal background in science and evolution. That being said, those of us with more advanced knowledge should still enjoy the read. I’m enjoying it because it is simply a fun book and hard to put down. The one critical comment I would make is that the narrative does not always flow smoothly. Even though Nye had an editor help him, the sometimes choppy style suggests the book was written fairly hastily and rushed to publication before the Nye vs. Ham debate faded too far into the past and people lost interest.” – Craig “knowmad”
