Zero Day Audio Book Summary:
David Baldacci is one of the most popular thriller authors today and he now introduces a new protagonist to this genre that he certainly has a knack for. Zero Day focuses on Army Special Agent John Puller as he tackles the most difficult and brutal crimes in the country and his toughest test will begin in Zero Day. John Puller is an experience soldier and has since become the military’s finest investigator within the U.S. Army Criminal Division. His personal life seems to have an effect on his indomitable will to get to the truth no matter what. His father was a legend and a hero in the army but his brother is currently incarcerated for a life in prison due to treason.
John Puller’s most dangerous assignment arrives when he is called to investigate a brutal family massacre in a rural area in West Virginia. In this sleepy coal country, far from any military outpost, he meets up with a local homicide detective who initially does not take a liking to Puller. However, further time together reveals that the detective has some personal demons of her own which explains her attitude. Puller and his new partner try to dig deep into this case and slowly but surely they discover that not all appears as they seem. This case is bigger than what he expected and to find the truth they must face an overwhelming force hell bent on keeping it buried.
One reason to listen:
David Baldacci has another winner on his hands with Zero Day. If you love well written thrillers with twists galore then this audiobook is a perfect listen.

Reactions:
“On another note the production value of the audiobook is fantastic. It uses different actors for the male of female voices (sometimes I can’t stand a man’s voice doing the whole high pitched thing for the women character’s in so many books) — very well done and I cannot wait to read the follow up.” – Patrick Bateman

“I enjoyed this audiobook- a little slow moving and somewhat predictable but the story line and characters were engaging. It was perfect for a long car trip.” – Cheryl McGuirk

“I do almost all my reading via audiobook and am a proud member of Audible.com. I read Zero Day on CD from the public library; I am planning to buy the next Puller installment from audible.com as soon as I submit this review.” – Victoria Collins

“There is nothing mindboggling about the plot. It’s rather straight forward as a thriller. High stakes, people die, people almost die, etc. Nevertheless, it’s decently entertaining. The narrator(s) do a good job with the character voices.” – Julie “Only Honest Opinions”
